It was nighttime in Gotham City—the most dangerous time in a most dangerous place. Yellow and white lights flickered on and off from the windows of the tall buildings and skycrapers that littered the city. The lamps that lined the streets illuminated the sidewalks, but the light dared not flush past the shadows in the alleyways between the buildings.
Car horns honked, and the sounds of people talking, barking dogs, yelling, crying children, laughter, car radios, and all the hustle and bustle of the big city flooded the night air. There was not a single patch of silence to be found in the whole city.
A nimble, shadowed figure darted around a building corner and leapt behind an alley trashcan. The can shook and rattled quietly, and moments later, the blue and red lights and sirens of two GCPD cars sped by the alley. As the sound faded in momentarily and then quickly back out, the figure of a slender young woman in a long-eared hat stretched her neck out. Her eyes searched the area for security before she stood to her full height and let out an audible exhale, a wave of relief washing over her. ”Geez, Harl. Talk about a close call…” she whispered to herself, the corners of her painted black lips curling up slightly.

Other: Harleen graduated with a PhD. in Psychology from Gotham University and went on almost immediately after finishing school to work as a Criminal Psychologist in Arkham Asylum. She soon became the doctor of Gotham’s notoriously infamous criminal, The Joker. Soon after beginning sessions with him, she became infatuated and had a psychotic break, wherein she freed Joker from his cell and joined his crew. She has been admitted to Arkham Asylum numerous times and released on a few occasions for good behavior, while other times she has escaped from her cell.
